*This lecture course is a writing-intensive seminar geared towards facilitating student understanding, interpretation, and discussion of contemporary visual culture (fine art, design, film, advertising, etc.). The course stresses critical analysis from modern perspectives such as class, politics, race, and gender.

*This is an interdisciplinary, team-taught art history/literature seminar. The course examines parallels between works of fine art and literature (western and non-western) that were concurrently produced during historic periods of cultural evolution and revolution. This course is required of all Holy  Cross students pursuing a B.A. in Liberal Arts.
